Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is Perfect Place to Bring the Kids - Anytime!
Nestled at 6,800 feet above sea level on Cheyenne Mountain in southwest Colorado Springs, with spectacular views of the Pikes Peak region below, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the home to the world’s most prolific giraffe herd – with over 191 giraffe births registered since 1954. These are the same giraffes that guests get eye-to-eye with and feed, every day of the year. When not intrigued by the 800 animals that call the Zoo home, guests can also enjoy other amusements around Zoo grounds including a historic carousel, a tot train for little train-lovers, and pony rides.

Admission rates for the zoo are $14.25 for adults, $12.25 for seniors, $7.25 for children age 3 to 11, and children 2 and under are admitted free. $0.25 from each admission is designated to Quarters for Conservation, a Zoo program that provides funding for wildlife conservation projects regionally and around the globe. Some on-ground rides and the Mountaineer Sky Ride have a separate admission charge.

Zoo admission includes access to the Russell Tutt Scenic Highway and the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun, weather and road conditions permitting. Group rates are available as are annual memberships that include unlimited Zoo visitation.

The Mountaineer Sky Ride is open daily from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., weather permitting, (last ride up at 4:15pm). Admission rates for the Mountaineer Sky Ride are $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for children age 3 to 11. Zoo admission is not required to ride the Mountaineer Sky Ride.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, founded by Spencer Penrose in 1926, is open every day of the year and is home to more than 800 animals representing over 150 species, 30 of which are endangered.
